Kinja'd!!!

I want a ‘73-’79 F0rd pickup, V8 4x4. Picture is Dad’s ‘78 F-100 Explorer. 2WD. Sold when I was a baby.

*cue sobbing at the state of my wallet*

Oh, and I’m well aware this is the third time I’ve made a post like this. I can’t help it.

Coworker at my last employer has one with an aluminum flatbed and something like 35" tires. It was a neat rig.

I want a regular cab/short bed. Either on 31s or 33s I think.

In 1979, Ford even made an Indianapolis Speedway Official Truck Package to replicate trucks used in the Indy 500, like the truck equivalent of an Indianapolis Pace Car package.

Yup! Don’t think I’ve ever seen one in person, though.

I feel like 31-33 is the optimal size without looking obnoxiously large. At least on older trucks.

I may want obnoxiously large at some point. My original idea was full on 80s 4x4 custom.

Y’know, roll bar and push bar with KC Daylighters and all that.

But I kinda just want a nice classic truck now.

Apart from the bumpers and mirrors, this is a perfect example of what I wanted originally, and still kinda want.

I’ve posted about my dad’s Audi 4000 coupe 4-speed on here many times. Still never found one, don’t ever expect to at this point.

The vehicle I coveted most out of all that my dad has had is still the Bronco. But it was scrapped, and getting another just feels wrong to me.

I know the feeling. When I was a kid my dad had a 78 Bronco Custom - 2/tone red and black/351M/auto with a smoked plastic bug guard and snap-on headlight blinders. It nearly killed my mom because it had bald-ass 33" Mickey Thompson tires on wagon wheels and she slid sideways down an embankment during a torrential rain.

It had 4" lift and it was the height of early 80s Western PA 4WD fashion. Looked sort of like this, but with the “custom” base trim (no side chrome, black grille, and round headlamps:

Seriously it had the front like this:

Then in about 1991 he got another one - a 79 XLT Ranger with 400/4speed in dark red with white. It was this color scheme with factory height, white fender flares and white wagon wheels:

Mmmmm. Those sound bitchin’.

Dad had an ‘84 when I was little. 351W/C6, dual exhaust, 31 inch BFG Radial Long Trail T/As on the ubiquitous white wagon wheels. He sold it in 2004. And I hate whoever scrapped it in 2010.
